What kind of hardwood floors does Denton’s do?
Denton’s Hardwood Flooring installs and finishes red oak, white oak, maple, hickory, and Brazilian cherry, to name just a few. We carry three grades of wood: Select and Better #1 Common and #2 Common and do on site wood staining to allow the customer to pick out their desired stain. When ready to begin sanding we like to get an Idea of the desired stain color ,we then sand an area and put down about three stain colors so that the customer  can pick out what goes best with their home . We only use Minwax stains , we have tried a few other stains and nothing compares to the minwax stain and it comes in a wide variety of colors. Minwax carries a color chart but we prefer not to use that , we have found that on site staining always works best. We also install pre-finished hardwood floors . These also come in a select grade, # 1 common and # 2 common . Visit our supplier’s website at www.mullicanflooring.com to view the variety of woods and finishes. When you call Denton's Hardwood Flooring Bobbie Jo Denton or Frankie Denton can Explain the different grades of wood in detail to gelp you better understand .

How many days does it take to sand and finish a floor?
It usually takes four (4) to five (5) days to sand and finish hardwood floors in an older home. The floor is sanded, stained and the first coat of finish is applied on the first day. The second and third days consist of buffing the floor and putting on additional layers of finish. The floor is left to dry on the fourth day.

Please note if this is an older home it makes a better sand job if quarter round or shoe mold is removed prior to sanding .

An additional two (2) weeks is added to the finishing time for new construction. Hardwood floors need to sit installed in new structures for 7-10 days with the heat or air on to acclimate to any settling that the house does before they can be sanded and finished.

What about the dust?
Most people have worries about the amount of dust generated by finishing or re-finishing hardwood floors. Because the process of finishing floors involves sanding, there is always some dust, but we use top of the line dust reduction equipment to minimalize the amount. In fact, one of the most common comments that people make about Denton’s Hardwood Flooring is that we leave a clean job site.

Do we guarantee our work?
Yes. Denton’s Hardwood Flooring stands behind every job, no matter how large or small. We only collect money after the job is approved. In fact, Frankie’s motto is “When you’re happy, we’re happy.”

How wide can the planks be?
Frankie does not like to install boards over five and a half inches. Boards wider than that can cause cupping problems.
